Le Bistrot Pierre Nottingham scoops the Nottingham Restaurant Awards Best Value title for the third consecutive year

Diners from across Nottinghamshire declared Le Bistrot Pierre Nottingham’s Best Value for Money restaurant for the third consecutive year in the 2005 Nottingham Restaurant Awards.

Owners Robert Beacham and John Whitehead commented: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have been voted the Best Value restaurant by the public for the third year running, especially in light of the heightened competition across the city. We were awarded the title at the very first Nottingham Restaurant Awards ceremony three years ago and we’ve held on to it ever since, which is a fantastic achievement. We are throwing a huge party for the Le Bistrot Pierre team this summer to celebrate the award hat-trick and thank them for their efforts.”

Thomas Robertson from Le Bistrot Pierre Nottingham wins the city’s first ever Best Young Chef title

Thomas Robertson, the 22-year old chef de partie from Le Bistrot Pierre, has been crowned Nottingham’s first ever Young Chef of the Year after beating off over 30 talented young hopefuls from restaurants across the region.

The judges selected just four finalists to take part in the young chef cook-off competition at New College on 23rd May. Each of the finalists were supplied with individual food baskets, all containing the same ingredients donated by Rungis Market, and were given two and half hours to create a two course meal for two. The judging panel consisted of no less than three Michelin starred chefs – Nottingham’s own Sat Bains, Claude Bosi of the Hibiscus in Ludlow and Paul Cunningham of The Paul in Copenhagen, plus two representatives from the sponsors.

Following the judges deliberation, Sat Bains delivered the unanimous decision and Thomas was announced the winner. Thomas won a trip to Rungis Market in Paris plus the opportunity to work with each of the chefs on the judging panel in their kitchens in Nottingham, Shropshire and Copenhagen.
